No mas ron, no mas español!

So. Jetzt ist es leider wieder soweit, dass ich weiterziehen muss. Das hat nicht geklappt. Ich hätte, bevor ich den Job akzeptiert habe, auch besser recherchieren sollen. Aber was soll's. Das ist jetzt auch vorbei. Also, bei mir hört das Spanisch lernen auf, und es beginnt ein neues Kapitel. Die Hotelversicherung hat zwar jetzt noch nichts bezahlt, aber man weiss ja nie, vielleicht habe ich doch noch Glück mit der Sache. Mit dem Chef hatte ich viele Meinungsunterschiede. Er meinte auch ich stelle zuviele Fragen. Er weiss nur nicht wie man es richtig erklärt. Ich will halt wissen warum ich etwas so machen soll und nicht anders. Sonst lerne ich auch nichts dabei.



Da ich nicht mehr dort arbeiten wollte, habe ich dann mal eine Anzeige auf dem PADI Job Board geschrieben. Am nächsten Tag kam schon prompt eine gute Nachricht vom The Dive Shop in Cambodia. Danach erfolgte das übliche Skype Interview und die Sache war klar. In drei Wochen würde ich rüberfliegen. Ich habe auch kontrolliert, dass es ein gutes Tauchzentrum ist. Zuerst haben die schon mal eine gute Webseite. Dann kann man die in den PADI Shops finden (suche Sihanoukville). Und ein deutscher leitet die Basis. Soweit also schon mal viel besser als eine komische Webseite die gar nicht mehr aktuell war (habe ich auch erst später gemerkt).

In Cambodia bekomme ich dann normalerweise auch ein Businessvisum dass ich dann jeweils von innen verlängern kann. Es scheint es kostet auch nicht so teuer.

Ich werde halt vermissen da Spanisch reden zu können, aber sonst wird das sicher ein Hammer!

Adios cangrejito!

Il est temps de dire au revoir et bonjour. C'est l'histoire d'un petit Marcel qui, se baladant dans les Amériques, perdit son chemin dans les sombres allées des caribiques. Eh oui. Mais va-t-il retrouver son chemin? Il pense que oui. Le chemin est long. Il se met en route. Et après-demain, si tout se passe bien, sera déjà en Thaïlande, d'où il prendra divers bus, tuk-tuk, minibus et autres moyens de transports, pour se rendre à Sihanoukville au Cambodge. Cette expérience qui ne lui fut pas très prometteuse lui permettra de mieux se rendre compte que parmi les humains, eh bien il y a des cons. Il le savait. Il en avait déjà rencontré, mais rarement côtoyé si de si près. C'est pourquoi, un jour de beau avant le pluie, le petit Marcel s'est décidé à déménager. Peu après, on lui a annoncé qu'il allait ne plus travailler là d'ici au 15.

Une bonne augure s'est déjà annoncée à lui un jour après sa fameuse décision. Un message provenant d'un pays lointain, où des gens étranges vivent, est arrivé dans sa petite boîte e-mail. Le Cambodge. Mystique et merveilleux, ce pays l'avait aussi attiré depuis un moment. Et le voila qu'il s'y rend pour un travail.

The Dive Shop, un centre de plongée réputé avec une page TripAdvisor, Facebook et surtout un lien dans le PADI Shop Locator, lui annonce que c'est un centre de plongée PADI 5 étoiles.

Le petit Marcel arrivera-t-il à apprendre le khmer?

In short, I'm leaving here because I cannot work with the boss here anymore. We've had our difference of opinions, he tells me I ask too many questions and he never properly explains things. Then he says he did. Anyways, many differences, one solution.

I remember well this one day when my only Open Water student arrived. I went with three other customers to change money, buy stuff, and buy fuel. I missed the potential student because I didn't catch him while I was at the hotel. I got a phone call from the boss, that I shouldn't be buying fuel myself but send one of the local guys (which he told me earlier I should be careful of because they steal money). We both said this wouldn't work out (I hate this kind of relationship), and later he said yes, it was service to clients. When I say it wouldn't work out, I mean it, so I gave him 3 more weeks to see if the insurance would pay out. We will see if what he says about himself is true: being honest and never taking what's not his to take.

So this is how my way now leads me to The Dive Shop in Cambodia. This is a proper PADI 5 star dive centre with a TripAdvisor and Facebook pages, a good website and a link in the PADI Shop Locator.

I'm quite excited about going over there, although it's half the world away.
