Diving if you had asthma as a child?

Today someone came in really motivated to try something new. Especially with the raining, there isn't much point in sticking on the beach. Might as well get wet and go dive!

So we checked him in, made him fill out his medical questionnaire and set him on the path of learning the diving theory. But he had several medical conditions, worst of all being his asthma history as a child. 

So what's the deal?

Comme vous pouvez l'imaginer, grâce aux diverses photos envoyées et publiées, conduire ici ou là n'est pas toujours semblable à conduire en Suisse, Europe ou ailleurs dans ce monde, que nous autres appelons "civilisé". Je dis "nous autres" pour ne pas blesser âme qui vive.

Donc par exemple, dans plusieurs pays, comme Madagascar, la Thaïlande ou ici au Cambodge, conduire est différent. Particulièrement conduire un petit scooter ou moto comme on appelle ça ici. C'est vrai que ça n'a rien d'une "vraie" moto comme on l'entend par chez vous. C'est généralement une mini-cylindrée (genre 110 cc) de modèle chinois. Alors bon, c'est pas comme on le croit en général. Le chinois aussi ça fonctionne. Juste peut-être en moins bien. Genre il faut pas s'arrêter sans mettre un peu de gaz, ou il ne faut pas être léger sur la pédale pour changer de vitesse. Mais autrement ça fonctionne plutôt pas mal.

Cambodia - random news

Well, well, after two weeks in Cambodia, a few Discover Scuba Diving, Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses, I slowly get my bearings here.

Gestern wurde ich von meinen Vietnamesen Studenten zum Essen eingeladen. Wir sind ins Happa, ein Japanisches / Khmer Restaurant nebenan. Dort haben wir viele Sachen gegessen, und am Ende zuviel. Die ganze Nacht hatte ich dann Magenkrämpfe.

Tantôt il fait chaud, tantôt il pleut des cordes pendant plusieurs journées d'affilée. C'est le début de la saison des pluies. Il paraît que ce sera pire en juillet et août.

Once again, it was time to move on. I would have stayed longer if I hadn't had a job awaiting me in Cambodia. But then I probably would have lingered way too long in that metropolis that is Bangkok.

Speak-Easy Cafe lies next to Thanaan Tha Din Daeng, which is a little way out of any proper public transports. I know there are buses, but I never took one in Bangkok. Also, the taxis are pretty cheap. From Speak-Easy Cafe I therefore took a taxi to the closest BTS (Bangkok's Skytrain) station. Aaron and Niddy from Speak-Easy usually recommend arriving or leaving from Krung Thonburi. The taxi driver came to the earlier station and asked me if it was okay to drop me here. I acquiesced and paid the BHT 50 (USD ~1.30) fare.

So. Jetzt ist es leider wieder soweit, dass ich weiterziehen muss. Das hat nicht geklappt. Ich hätte, bevor ich den Job akzeptiert habe, auch besser recherchieren sollen. Aber was soll's. Das ist jetzt auch vorbei. Also, bei mir hört das Spanisch lernen auf, und es beginnt ein neues Kapitel. Die Hotelversicherung hat zwar jetzt noch nichts bezahlt, aber man weiss ja nie, vielleicht habe ich doch noch Glück mit der Sache. Mit dem Chef hatte ich viele Meinungsunterschiede. Er meinte auch ich stelle zuviele Fragen. Er weiss nur nicht wie man es richtig erklärt. Ich will halt wissen warum ich etwas so machen soll und nicht anders. Sonst lerne ich auch nichts dabei.
